Fresh Pumpkin Pie Recipe

 

Aloun Farms Pumpkin Patch is a yearly hit statewide. 

Ingredients:

9” unbaked pie shell

1 cup

Granulated sugar

½ tsp

Salt

¼ tsp

Cinnamon

½ tsp

Nutmeg

½ tsp

Ginger

½ tsp

Cloves

½ tsp

Allspice

1 ½ cup

Fresh Cooked Aloun Farms Pumpkin (see recipe below)

1 2/3 cup

Evaporated milk

Eggs

Directions:

  1. Pre-heat the oven to 425
  2. Beat filling ingredients until smooth.
  3. Pour into unbaked pie shell.
  4. Bake in oven for 15 minutes.
  5. Lower the temperature to 350 degrees F and continue baking for about 35 minutes until firm.

FRESH PUMPKIN for PIE:

Peel and seed pumpkin.  Cut into 1”cubes.  Cook in small amount of salted water until tender.  Mash until smooth and use in recipes calling for pumpkin puree.

Pumpkin can be baked in the oven and then mashed.
